Our solution
Our scope included point cloud surveying to capture existing MEPH services so that the project team could determine how they could be best linked with the new extension. Close co-ordination was required with the estate team to gain unfettered access while ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations. The output for this first stage was a 2mm dense colourised point cloud created using the Leica RTC 360.
For the second stage we produced an LOD400 model of all existing MEPH services, working with both the client’s estates team and MEPH designer to identify and tag all systems, plant and equipment within the digital twin.
The resulting model will be used by both the estates team and extension designers to progress the design, minimise disruption and optimise the MEPH design to meet NHS net zero targets.
